Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara – Wildlife Safari Adventure

Your thrilling 7-day Kenya safari begins with a pickup from your Nairobi hotel. As we depart for Maasai Mara, you’ll be treated to picturesque views of the Kenyan landscape. This is also a perfect place to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, a remarkable wildlife spectacle that takes place yearly. The journey takes you through scenic vistas, including rolling hills and local villages. On arrival in Maasai Mara, settle into your chosen lodge or camp, ready for a delicious lunch. After a brief rest, embark on an exciting evening safari drive, allowing you to experience the Big Five, as well as the unique “Samburu Special Five” and other wildlife. Return to your accommodation for a satisfying dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

 

Day 2: Maasai Mara Game Drives – Witness the Great Migration

Start your day early with a hearty breakfast before a captivating morning safari drive in Maasai Mara. Witness the breathtaking sight of the Great Wildebeest Migration, as thousands of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River. This awe-inspiring natural event is one of the highlights of your safari. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the bush. In the evening, return to your accommodation for dinner and rest.

 

Day 3: Maasai Mara – Breakfast, Wildlife, and Cultural Visit

Begin your day with a delicious breakfast at your Maasai Mara lodge or camp. After breakfast, set out for a morning safari drive to witness the incredible wildlife of the Mara, including the Big Five and the “Samburu Special Five.”

Following the morning safari drive, you’ll visit a Maasai village for a cultural experience, where you can learn about their traditions and way of life. It’s a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich heritage of the Maasai people.

After the cultural visit, have lunch at your lodge or camp in Maasai Mara. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely time to relax or explore the surroundings. In the evening, return to your accommodation for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

 

Day 4: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru – Unique Birdlife and Wildlife

After breakfast, it’s time to leave Maasai Mara and head to Lake Nakuru. Along the way, enjoy the changing landscapes and the transition from the savannah to the Rift Valley. On reaching Lake Nakuru, check in at your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, explore Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos, rhinos, zebras, and giraffes. This park offers a unique blend of birdlife and wildlife. Return to your lodge for dinner and a comfortable night’s rest.

 

Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Samburu – The “Samburu Special Five”

Today, we continue our journey towards Samburu, a unique and less-visited national park, known for its special wildlife. As you travel, enjoy the diverse terrain and the transition from the Rift Valley to the arid landscapes of Samburu. On arrival, check-in at your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, venture out for a safari drive in Samburu, where you can spot the “Samburu Special Five” – the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and the gerenuk. Return to your lodge for dinner and a peaceful night.

 

Day 6: Exploring Samburu – Early Morning Wildlife Viewing

On this day, you’ll have an early breakfast and head out for a morning safari drive in Samburu. This is an excellent time for wildlife viewing and capturing the unique animals of Samburu, including the “Samburu Special Five.” Enjoy a picnic breakfast amidst the stunning scenery.

After the morning safari drive, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you’ll continue exploring Samburu with another safari drive. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

 

Day 7: Samburu to Nairobi – Conclusion of Your Safari

After breakfast, bid farewell to Samburu as we start our journey back to Nairobi.  Before departure you will have one last chance to go out and see the wild animals. 

You’ll have lunch en route, and we’ll arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon. 

This concludes your 7-day adventure, filled with the best of Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Samburu, including the Great Migration, a cultural visit to a Maasai village, and unique wildlife experiences.
